They look to be captured mid-flow by a slow motion macro lens.  She created all these images on a large canvases (6ftx6ft) out of fireworks.  Attaches smoke bombs and other pyrotechnics to a long stick and paints with them as they explode and erupt.  What a great idea with an even greater result.
